Film shows the pandemonium that get created because of ignorance! Film also shows that we basically co-exist with brainless people! Only dumb people can think of creating ruckus in the name of religion! If someone dresses up in a particular way – let’s say – as a Bengali, and murders some eminent personality (esp. political personality) , people will begin killing all Bengalis they catch on the road! How stupid is that?
So a Bengali doctor, engineer, teacher, clerk, LIC agent, sweeper, vegetable seller, MLA…whoever –including his wife, parents, children – all are at fault! This is exactly how dumb are we, the people!
This is what the film is all about! Way back in early 80’s there was this Operation Blue Star .

Indira like her father, using her manipulative and exploitative family-behaviour, lured Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala to campaign for her party in Punjab. The Sikhs held Singh in high regard and started to support Congress. With the extensive campaigning and with the help of Jarnail Singh and other Sikhs, Indira Gandhi was able to defeat Akali Dal and form a Congress-led government in Punjab.
With her government in Punjab, it was the time to eliminate the most loved Sikh saint Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala. On 3 June 1984 Operation Blue Star was executed under the pretext that Jarnail was an outlaw and terrorist. In fact it was just the beginning of an organised mass murder of Sikhs.
As a consequence to the atrocities committed by PM Indira against Sikhs, she was assassinated by her own two Sikh guards on 31 October 1984; almost four months after the carnage.

So basically it was all a political game! Dumb and power hungry people manipulate the mass….the mass that is given education for free by the Government…what is the use of such education when one can be easily manipulated?!
Anyway, this story showed how an innocent family survived from being brutally murdered by the same neighbours who lived and made merry earlier at all occasions like – Holi, Deewali, Birthdays or marriage celebrations…etc. How does the festive message douse down in fraction of a millisecond? What does it show of us? That we are clueless fools who are leading a ‘dead’ brainless life – Period.
The same thing happened in 1947 too – the commoners had to face the brunt of the massacre of the India-Pakistan division!
Film also showed how even the Police officers were supporting the mass murder of innocent Sikh families! Ok, the cops are humans too…belonging ultimately to the common mass…so they too were antagonistic towards the Sikh families. So many must have quenched their personal grudges….women were raped, children were drowned in boiling oil and men were burnt alive! Gosh!! What kind of people we co-exist with!
If something similar is to happen yet again….the same things will be repeated. Because after all we, the people, are 60% BPL (below Poverty Line) who answer their nature’s call in open fields……frustrated, dissatisfied souls…who would surely draw a lot of sadistic pleasure upon burning those people alive who lead a comfortable life.
A special scene: An educated Sikh took shelter from a drunkard Hindu who looted him – took away all his money, gold chain and watch and then he went out to call people to kill him! He himself got another bottle of country liquor to enjoy though…..so a sober educated human died and a wasteful drunkard survived….and Indians wonder why on earth are they still so backward!
