Silsilay – Film Review

Silsilay – Film Review

Anchor Point : Shah Rukh Khan.

He starts with introducing 3 ladies – who – according to the Bollywoodians of course – definitely not otherwise – are women with a whole lot of dignity and self respect!! Lol!

Listen to what the poor Bollywoodians – deep in the muck of ignorance – consider as ‘self respect’ !

Story One :

A girl (played by Bhoomika –of Tere naam fame ) ran away from house to become an actress – started her career from down south, then later, as luck favored her – she got a chance in Bollywood and made it pretty big !

Point to note:

Well its not his fault to consider his female colleagues as ‘self-respectful’ – after all we all know why majority of Indians go to watch movies – ..but of course to see the ‘ample display of fair and lovely private-parts of femlaes’ !This fact is very well known to the Directors and they see to it that the heroines show their private parts liberally – or else – they will be shown the door !

The film industry started on a good note though – the 60’s, 70’s and even early 80’s movies had a clear cut demarcation between the heroine and vamp material – but nowadays the heroines are themselves seen clad in a lil’ more than ‘g-strings’ …so what can the vamp wear – if they come nude – then the movies will get a ‘blue movie certificate’ – but heroines – after they somehow make it big – refuse to act in blue films altogether !!

So we all know that if a lady starts from down South – she has to really really really make a hell lot of compromises in order to get a good role – that’s quite a lot of struggle.

So folks, I am sorry to say that the kind of role that Bhumika played does not do any justice to the term ‘self respect’ that is being used for her ! No Lady with a wee bit of self respect will readily do passionate scenes, kissing, smooching, hugging any man and every man (in different movies with different heros)…. and liberally show her private parts in public! One needs to be shameless to be able to do such stuff. In the yesteryear films also we had ladies working…at least on screen they behaved well and the intelligent directors knew that if the heroine shows her bare vital stats then there might be problems with the censor boards….later, as time passed, the Bolly bullies had the censor board members in their pockets I guess – thus we can see decadence so obvious!

Ok, Back the story!

This Lady falls in love with a fellow – who eventually leaves her because she never gave him any ‘quality time’ and whenever she was near him – all that he could think of was her ‘passionate’ movie scenes with some bloke !- But natural. Her boyfriend starts dating another woman who turns out to be a lesbian – so he dumps her as well. In the meanwhile – Bhomika – who is supposedly playing the role of a self-respectful woman – seduces her ex-boyfriend to sleep with her and becomes pregnant – an unwed mother – the poor child born to her will live sadly ever after being called a ‘bastard’ or a ‘bitch’ all his/her life starting from school – to college to anywhere he/she would go – and thus they are the ones who eventually land up in discotheques ..to booze, have drugs & dance away their blues..followed by raping and murdering…and giving the IPS Officers the reason of their existence !!

Story Two:

Is of a girl (played by Raima Sen d/o Mummun Sen, grand d/o of Suchitra Sen) belongs to a small town who comes to Mumbai for a job – as soon as she lands up in Mumbai – she goes for hair cut and wears ultra modern dresses – showing her cleavage etc.

A guy from her office takes an instant liking for her – and offers her lift in his car but she refuses to take lift and travels by train – mind you wearing that ‘cleavage showing’ dress of hers – no wonder why there are such bomb blasts in Mumbai …. Mumbai, where the presiding deity is Shree Ganesh, who stands for innocence & purity – how can such shamelessness be tolerated ?..thus I suppose Mumbai nagaria suffers with so much unrest and bomb blasts – should the peon of a Company go against the CEO of the Company? He will be ousted – right?…similarly folks – go against Purity & innocence and sure enough – you will be annihilated – don’t try to act fresh with the Creator !!

This small town girl is actually in love with a rich & wasteful lad – who wants to get her laid – he takes her to some hotel room – she readily goes with him (ps. A self respectful girl would not have agreed to go in seclusion with the man she loves – if he loved her – he should have met her in the open) – but before he can ‘do the needful’ she runs out of the room – I suppose this is why the Bollywoodians introduced her as self respectful…..as she refused to get laid !!…but does not mind showing her cleavage to anyone and everyone –maybe the Directors are not aware of a Science called ‘Body Language’ which includes dress sense etc. moreover in India, a scantily dressed female is generally thought of as a pick-up girl.

There was a serial anchored by Tanuja (mother of Kajol) named ‘ Aur bhi hai rahen‘ (there are other paths as well ) – where it was shown that there are many ways to lead a respectful life such as : Cooking, sewing, nursing, serving – in Home for the aged, spastic society etc. – there is no dearth of respectful jobs in India – but if a woman has ‘zero’ self respect she makes money in the easiest way possible – ie. ‘spreading her legs’ – so ? whose fault is it? Who is to be blamed?

Anyways , eventually she agrees or disagrees to marry her colleague is ambiguous. She once catches the rich lad with another woman and hits him for breaking her heart.

Well, I failed to see even the slightest shade of self respect in her.

Story Three :

Played by Tabu. The second wife of a rich Business man – Anwaar sahib – whose son (born to the first wife) is around 16 – 17 years old. Father remains out of station most of the time and is having a gala time – affair with an Air Hostess. Often its shown in movies that Air hostesses are extremely dumb – Period ! Refer movie – Garam Masala – a single fella is 3 timing 3 hostesses at the same time – but all of them are so utterly dumb that they do not come to know of it at all !! – although I personally know some Air hostess – but they do not seem to be so very dumb!

In a scene its shown that Tabu goes to receive her husband and an Airhostess – wearing short tight skirt and black slacks come to bid him goodbye – a total one minute is given on the scene where the Hostess’s buttocks & long legs are focused and Anwar sahib is seen ogling at them right in front of his wife and son !

So this is the reason why Air hostesses are made to wear short tight skirts? – in order to look sexy for the sex-starved travelers !! This Air Hostess is also a friend to the lesbian girl friend seen in Story One. Both of them are seen discussing the males in their lives – and when – on being asked whether she (air hostess) will marry Anwar Sahab – she refuses point blank and makes fun of the whole issue!

In the mean while Tabu – who is shown as a bit clumsy – breaking glass decoration pieces etc. – is a good woman who tries to please her husband in every possible way – the 17 years old son is shown to have developed a crush on her – but she does not come to know of it and is neither bothered about it. She eventually comes to know of her husband’s affair and is heart broken – but decides to leave him – maintaining her dignity and proceeds to her Mother’s house in Lucknow. His son wants to come with her but she refuses to take him with her and proceeds homewards. Well only Tabu’s character seems to have some self respect in this movie !

Meeting Point:

It is at this juncture that the 3 ladies meet – the actress – due to deliver – meets with the accident – probably a last chance was given to the infant from not taking birth in the house of an ‘unwed’ Mother with a sealed future !But Tabu saves him with the help of Raima and they reach her to the hospital – a baby boy is born – a boy who will eventually grow up to satisfy the needs of the ‘supposedly dignified but easily available’ dames of our Country !

The boy born with a sealed future will be an object of ridicule from day one in school – when his friends will ask about his father ! Later when he will grow up and will be introduced to the World of sex via- novels, movies, music videos etc. , he’ll come to know exactly what is the process of conceiving followed by 9 months of pregnancy and eventual spreading of legs for child birth – one may refer movie ‘Salaam Namaste’ – the last scene where the process has been shown with explicit details !

So as a way out – he’ll only mix with the children born under similar circumstances / or of broken homes and land up in bars, pubs, discotheques with more frustrated pigs and piglets around ! Eventually he’ll fall in lust with yet another girl either born of some ‘unwed mother’ or a broken home – like refer movie ‘ Unkahee‘ where father runs away with a model….and life goes on….one may wonder how come they have all the money on Earth – common men and women often look heavenwards towards a reply – as to why such people are given all the money …..little do they know that its them who give them the money & not Gods !…well the commoner couldn’t yet curb his/her lust for sex with good looking ‘bed partner’..but they also know that since average Indian is not so good looking, they have to fantasize on the younger, well waxed, fairer daughters, sisters, wives of the men with power and money !But nothing comes for free folks – one has to pay to watch them gyrate in a bra and a panty !!- refer movie ‘ Bluffmaster‘ where its said clearly that husbands think of Bips (Bipasha) and wives think of Shah Rukh while making love (actually just humping & jumping under the influence of media)!!

Go to them...bhool jao sara jahan…and the World will also forget all about you….to live happily ever after.
