Akira – Film Review

Somewhere someone is created to annihilate the  evil!

Story:

A nine years old girl- Akira – witnesses the Acid-throw incident on one of her friends! When the cops ask whether anyone saw the culprit throwing acid on the girl, Akira goes forward and identifies the boy. The boy – a teenager, had thrown acid on her face because she had rejected him!! So in order to take revenge, he ruins her for life!! Later the boy is released (the boy was released too soon it seemed)…..and attacks Akira with a knife leaving the young girl all shaken!

Akira’s father observes her and decides to put her in Karate classes…as the era of  dainty dancing girls was over…the girls have to learn self defense tactics because in the world of sex-starved, pervert, maniac, foolish, confused, loser males, it is no use waiting for them to come out with a foolproof strategy of putting an end to such atrocities done against women! Therefore it is best for girls to go against their nature – of being soft, warm and dainty but become hard, aggressive and ruthless ..otherwise some sex-starved maniac male will throw acid or rape her and happily trot away – without even being punished…because still the law and order of many nations are confused whether torturing a girl is a crime at all or not!

After couple to months, Akira observes the same boy eve teasing other girls (oh-yea – he was absolute free of all guilt to have ruined a girl for life!)- Akira goes and slaps him – he tries to throw acid on her but she uses one of her karate moves and throws acid on the boy’s face instead! (Aha – what an instant karma that was – very soul-quenching scene I must admit!)

But Akira was taken to the remand house for  juvenile offenders for what she did – she had to be in the rehab Institute for 3 years! Very surprising though! The boy who threw acid was released in 3 months or so…but Akira was arrested for 3 years!! Maybe because her father was a common man and could not bribe the officials to reduce her punishment!

Akira grows up and she shifts to a college in Mumbai. Her bother takes both her and his mother with him to Mumbai.

As we all know about corrupt Police officers, Akira happens to get entangled with the Government thugs!! She then uses her Karate skills to save herself from the atrocities of the men in uniform!

Similar thing happened to Akira – whereas commoners run to the cops for help..Akira herself becomes the victim and finds herself in the midst of corrupt police officers who were hell bent to kill her!

The film started with the dialogue – God prepares you for the duty you have to perform on planet Earth! Akira was born to put an end to corruption!
