Beware of Weight Reduction Ayurvedic Formulae sold in HP!

Folks,

Please don’t beat me up after reading this! Yes…I was duped yet again by innocent appearing lambs of HP (Himachal Pradesh)! I visited HP this year in May 2016 and was happily loitering and enjoying the mountainous beauty of HP. Went to Khajjihar , a famous spot for tourists…and here is where I was spotted by charlatans to dupe me!

They saw me – the plump me, and guessed that I must be someone who is dying to lose weight. They came and stood in front of me with a black bag and asked me if I wanted to lose weight. He started showing me old yellow booklets – esp. Formula No. 15 that reduces weight almost instantly! Like within a month a guaranteed 5kg loss and then automatically weight reduction happens for the next 3 months….like the medicine is so strong that it enters the cells of the body and motivates it to shed extra kilos….well, something like that. I ignored him totally. Rejected. I had already tried such stupid powders shown on TV….and nothing had worked for me – nothing at all.

He again approached me ….this time he took out an oil from his bag and put 2 drops of it on the back of my palm – he asked me to rub vigorously. I rubbed…and then he asked me to turn my hand – and lo behold…there were droplets of oil on my palm!

He then took out colored-chalks like thingies from his bag and asked his comrade to grind it. Then he asked me to just have a pinch of it and after 3 mins, he again poured the same oil drops on the back of my palm. Again I rubbed, and again there were drops of oil on my palm. But….there is a but factor here…my sister who was with me and was also going through the same procedures…she did not show any oil droplets on her palm this time – her palm was absolutely dry!

So this man told her that for her only 3 powders were Mafik – means enough – but for me he will need to add 2 more powders. So again his comrade started to grind with 2 extra colored chalks…this time even I did not have oil droplets on my palm after having the pinch of powder! I guess that was the trick! These innocent appearing people know how ladies always..eternally want to lose weight…and thus I go conned – totally by them!

He told me that once I reach Kolkata, I will need to buy 2 more powders that are very expensive which he cannot carry with him. He did not tell me the price then though.

I returned home – dreams in my eyes to reduce weight magically! My dreams were short-lived. He called me and gave me the address of the Ayurvedic shop in Kolkata from where I can buy authentic powders!

So I went to the small shop…some Zainab Herbals and he showed me ‘Amrit Paustik’ powder that looked like some cheap golden eye shadow ..that sex-workers in red light areas wear! Anyway folks…I bought it…I will not tell the price because I am ashamed to utter it also…moreover, my friends and relatives who have direct access to me may even come to beat me up…so I am not going to write the exorbitantly high price of the powder!!

I started having the powder…twice daily – 1 month passed and I did not reduce even an ounce! I called him up, he asked to me to add 2 more powders to it. I added – no result. He then asked me to send my urine and the powder sample I was having. I sent. He called back saying that the senior most Ayurvedic Guru will talk to me personally – I spoke to him – he suggested me to add 2 more powders…meaning more money to be thrown in the drain!

I put the phone down! It was too much for me the bear their fraudulence!

Advice: Folks, if you want to reduce weight, do the following:

• Bring lifestyle changes – include walking, jogging, yoga or exercise in your daily regimen.
• Cut out on fried stuff and fast food.
• Control your diet. Eat healthy.
• Do not get duped by miracle medicines – they may be temporary…but they can do permanent damage to your kidneys and liver.
• Take care of yourselves. Be happy.
