Ebar Shabor – Bengali Thriller film

SO this is a murder mystery. I will obviously not reveal the end. I do have some ethics.

There is this girl – Mitali , who falls in love with an academically intelligent but financially poor fellow by the name of Paltu Haldar. The girl belongs to a well-to-do…rather pretty rich family. Father is devastated and disagrees to let her marry him – she elopes and marries him and stays with him for 6 months. After 6 long months of teenage honeymoon – you know lots of sex and only sex, she realises that life is more than just having sex – you need money to eat and survive and get ready for another session of all important ‘Sex’! Since this was not happening – hardly any food to eat – lack of protein in diet and reduced libido, she left him.

Her father takes this chance and gets him arrested by the cops (he thought, if his daughter ever gets weak for him again, she may run back to him – so he wanted to nip the devil in the bud). The cops beat him up black and blue and while doing so, they hurt his vertebrae so badly that his ‘sexual performance nerve’ got chopped off his life completely!

Now father starts looking for a suitable groom for his daughter (pre-honeymooned, much eff-ed daughter) – he finds a bank employee – Mithu- who looks sober and decent. Mithu agrees to marry Mitali. Well, whether Mithu is aware of Mitali’s past ‘sexual’ escapades  with a poor college student before marriage is not clearly shown in the film. Although indication is given that ‘since the entire locality knew of her elopement with the loser kinda fellow – he would also be knowing about it before marriage’. So it is indicated that Mithu knowingly married an ‘eff-ed’ female with a gory past! Conclusion – Mithu is a dumb fellow.

As it was natural – Mitali does not accept dumb Mithu as her husband and screams at him on the very first night and asks him to get lost! Mithu sleeps in the adjacent room for a couple of days and after a few months he files for a divorce. They get happily divorced.

Mitali moves to Pondicherry and spends time doing ‘sweet nothings’! She happens to meet an aged foreigner who was into painting/ drawing on  walls…like we did as toddlers…but well – since he was a foreigner and we all know how Indians go absolutely weak at the knees the moment they see a fair skin – so Mitali starts living with him…in his cottage…no no – not having sex or anything – he was too old to ‘perform-on-bed’ – just she thought the foreigner to be very original and knowledgeable!!

Bengali Thriller film…begins

Mitali’s father in the mean time starts having an affair with the ‘Aayah cum nurse’ he befriended at the hospital (you see it was in their blood to copulate with down-trodden people!). But her father had made it very clear to the nurse that she will just remain as his ‘kept’. Period. But he underestimated the Aayah – she gets him drunk and gets herself impregnated by him! Wow! So intelligent of her ! She was getting used to copulate with one man and she did not want to leggo of a rich client – this is one the best ways to trap ‘bit educated’ people – they usually are somewhat responsible towards their children…somewhat huh!

Anyways, in the meanwhile – Mitali’s cousin sister falls in love with Mithu – her ex-brother-in-law – who slept in the adjacent room and had never copulated with her elder cousin sister! Mithu accepts her proposal and they start the ‘love’ process…you know going around and stuff.

Well – while in Pondicherry – living with the aged foreigner..Mitali starts missing Mithu! She decides to go back and re-marry Mithu. But father dies at this stage – no – not murdered – die of old age. Aayah cum kept is devastated! She had admitted her son in a very expensive school – you know every mother likes to see her son going to English medium school – he will become a bara babu (big shot) and support the livelihood of so many aayahs like her…). So in order to keep up the life style and good education of her son – she becomes a top class ‘Call girl’ – so top class that it’s just unimaginable!! Like a saree clad simple aayah could be so talented…it can be only seen if you watch the film!

Well there is another character here – a ‘call-girl’ picker who also had a steady girl friend who was a divorcee with a daughter! Gory scene here…the reason why people watch films…no nothing much is shown – just the indication given.

Anyways – this Mitali gets murdered! Who killed her? The aayah (because she was her step mom after all who had the right to inheritance)? Mithu (Because she was coming between him and her cousin sis)/ …well well – many more such suspects!
